Item FL878, GIV-32, Masonic Emblems – “ZANESVILLE” / Eagle / “OHIO” in beaded frame / “J. SHEPARD & CO”, the color is dark chestnut brown approaching black, Pint, sheared lip, Open Pontil, bold embossing from top to bottom which is often weak on this flask, has a wee bit of high point wear and a tiny (3/16”) open bubble on the Eagle’s wing, otherwise perfect condition, a nice example in a very rare color, circa 1825 to 1835, $2,600
Note: These black colors look great in a group setting, providing interesting color contrast to the group.
