Item SM106, DR SWAYNE’S – PANACEA – PHILADA, brilliant amber with a reddish tone, cylindrical with twelve indented panels, 8” high, tapered applied top, large very bold lettering, has a tiny (1/8”) flake on the outside edge of the lip, a few light scratches on the shoulder and a few speckles of inside haze from the contents. This is an attic type bottle not dug and cleaned, a great looking bottle and extremely rare. I have a listing for a green one from 1993 but that’s it. This is obviously a “copy cat” of the famous SWAIM’S PANACEA”. In our opinion this is one of the best Smooth Base medicines in existence, circa 1860 to 1880,
